USS SPROSTON (DD/DDE-577)

REUNION GROUP REPORT

May 2005

Greetings to all of our Sproston shipmates, family members and friends. It’s that time again. It’s time to start making plans to join us for Sproston Reunion 2005 in Minnesota. We anticipate a good turnout and look forward to seeing many of you there.

2005 REUNION, BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA SEPTEMBER  21-25

Our Committee with Iver Anderson as Chairman assisted by Doug Menikheim and Steve Krenz has been hard at work putting together an outstanding reunion plan. We are going to be visiting an area of this wonderful Country that The Reunion Group has not previously visited. Our headquarters hotel is located adjacent to the Mall of America. Our itinerary includes a Memorial Service at Fort Snelling followed by a river cruise and a visit to the city of Stillwater. We will also be touring the Twin Cities area and will visit the Mall of America. A detailed Preview and Registration form are enclosed. As always we request that you send in your Registration as soon as possible. It really helps when we receive your registrations early.   Reunion Schedule   2005 USS SPROSTON Reunion Registration (PDF)  Registered Shipmates for USS SPROSTON Reunion 2005

As we indicated in our last Report, Al Fitz found it necessary to resign after years of dedicated service as webmaster. We are disappointed that no one has stepped forward and volunteered to serve as webmaster. We have had some recommendations concerning the use of contractors to maintain the site. While that remains an option, we would prefer to have one of our shipmates serve as webmaster. The website has been a great source of information for our shipmates and has enabled a number of shipmates to contact us and become members of the Reunion Group. Please contact Jim Marlatt if you can assist.
